Six Music Productions

SIX Music Productions are proud to share first-class post-production facilities with Floating Earth at their base in North West London. Situated on a small, quiet industrial estate in the leafy suburb of Perivale, we can work from three custom-built, soundproof editing suites (Floating Earth's mobile truck can provide a fourth edit suite). We additionally have access to a "copy room", allowing transfer to and from all manner of audio formats new and old, ubiquitous and rare.

 

All of the edit suites feature well-specified equipment, and an additional central equipment repository allows for numerous other items to be shared between suites. Each edit suite has a machine room or outside area where noisy equipment is left and patched through to the room itself, keeping the edit room free of noise and interference. All of the rooms have been designed & fitted out by acoustic specialists to ensure excellent mix translation. There is ample space for our clients to join us in these rooms, and all are welcome to do so.

 

Edit 1 

A simple edit suite designed for straightforward stereo editing and mastering, Edit 1 features a Pyramix system with dual-screen operation and various storage options, DAC, preamps, comprehensive patchbay, and a pair of B&W 805 speakers with B&W amplifiers. Acoustically-treated, edit 1 (in common with edit 2) benefits from excellent natural light.

 

 

Edit 2 is a similar room to Edit 1, deisgned around a dual-screen Pyramix system, principally for stereo edting, mixing & mastering. The usual DAC & preamps (along with their comprehensive patchbay) are supplemented with a Yamaha DMC-1000 digital mixing desk, giving physical fader control of mixing operations, and another pair of B&W 802 speakers - with B&W amplifiers - provide the monitoring. Edit 2 also has a client sofa, and is convieniently adjacent to the Copy Room.

 

Downstairs, Edit 3 is a larger room with full 5.1 surround-sound PMC monitoring. This room is configured for full surround-sound "mix-to-pix" operation, and a substantial Pyramix system - dual screen - uses MADI to talk with the Sony DMX-R100 digital mixing console, providing hands-on automation of a multitude of audio parameters. This room also has a permanently installed top-of-the-range reverberation unit, a Lexicon 960 with Larc remote.

 

 

 

Additional equipment available includes a variety of ADC, DAC and Clocking options, external reverbs (eg TC M3000) and digital processors (eg Junger d01, d03), Neve compressors, and so on. 

 

As with our recording equipment, it is possible to bring a set of editing equipment on location and edit "on-session" or with our clients in their home, if they wish to attend an edit session but are unable to come to us.
